Been a bit since I posted, I guess.
I'll catch you up a bit...
Was really busy with Halloween Stuff until the last minute, but I completed everything which I had realistically hoped to accomplish.

I'll link some pictures rather than post them here, that way if you wish to avoid them, you don't have to click.
Here are pics of my Cthulhu costume:

On this one, I made the robes (from scratch, no pattern), the hat (same as the robes) and the book (it was a bible once upon a time, now it's a nightmarish HP Lovecraft mythos tome). The facial prosthetic was supplied unpainted from mostlydead.com, and I did the makeup / paint / application for it.

Here are the some pictures of the face prosthetic I made for my friend:

This one one on her eye was made from scratch (and applied) by me.  The one on her collarbone was store bought.
She made the fingernails herself and they were amazing and gross and awesome.

I had also helped make a plastic shirt thing for my room mate, but I didn't see a picture of it where you could really get a good look, and I didn't really help too much anyhow haha.

We went downtown Halloween night, right at 6th and Red River, as usual.  Got there a little later than I would have liked, as usual.
During the course of the night, I saw a fight (it had 6 to 8 people in it) which actually crashed into the side of me.  I saw it coming and held on so I didn't get knocked over.  I saw a riot (this one had 10 to 16 people in it) in which 6 cops, pepper spray and 2 paddy wagons were deployed to correct the issue.

Weird, considering all these years I've been going down there and never seeing fights or disturbances at all.
They had the streets blocked off differently, maybe that's why...
None of the people involved were wearing costumes.
The first one involved a girl carrying an infant.  The second one featured a girl who got pepper sprayed by the cops TWICE! once across her whole face, and once right in the eye.  She kept going like a raging beast.  Seriously, that shit barely even slowed her down at all.  And she was five foot nothing and weighed maybe 110 pounds.  She was sort of my hero.

When I was removing my stilts at the end of the night, I got a wicked charlie horse.  It was the same leg that the Fighting Morons crashed into but I don't know if that was the ultimate cause or not.  It was REALLY bad.  Like wanting to scream, roll around and pray to pass out bad.  I had to sit on the sidewalk for a spell and recover.  It ended up being very swollen, and I could not touch it or put any weight on it for 2 days.

Not really sure what happened there, but it's better now.  I usually heal pretty fast though.
___

After that, my friend got in a car crash which sucks, but I think it's all going to be alright in the long run, and no one was injured.
___

Going to see Paranormal Activity 2 at Alamo Lakecreek tonight at 7:50 if anyone else will be there or whatever.
___

Tomorrow, waking up at the crack of early to road trip to east Texas and go to the Texas Renaissance Festival.  after that, we're driving another 1.5 hours east to camp out in a haunted swamp.  Complete with Native American Burial Grounds and lots of Bigfoot sightings.

Should be an awesome time!

I'm sure there's a million things on my mind, but this is already longer than anyone will read, so I'll post it now.
:P

On the other side of the wall.
Everything has changed.
Nothing has changed.

I'll strain my memory, just for you, my little dumplings.

Most of the first weekend was art. Painting mostly, but there was also some sewing and crafting.
Got a DVD copy of the zombie movie I was in recently.
:D :D :D

Sunday, I went to see AFI. I decided to give my extra ticket to my friend Andrew (he's the guy who wrote & directed the above mentioned zombie movie, as well as the 'monster in the closet' bumper I posted a while back). He's a good guy, and he likes AFI, so that worked out well.
___

When I decided to give him the ticket, a plan started formulating in my mind for the next day.

The next day, Monday was the Emilie Autumn show. I still had no luck with my extra ticket. I might as well be a 5 eyed mutant around here I guess.

After taxes and fees, that VIP ticket cost over $70.00. Now granted, it does come with a hardbound book (which comes later, via mail). I think it's a great price for what all you get, and I would gladly pay it again, any time. But again, that even with such delicious 'bait' I still couldn't get anyone to go with me.

Sooooo...... I decided "Fuck them if they don't know what's good" and I accepted my vague plan as a course of action.

My room mate also had her own ticket, so at least I didn't have to drive down there and wait around all alone, that would have been even more creepy. We went early. Had to be there 'before 7:45pm' for the VIP event, but I wanted to be there even earlier for my awesome plan.

We got there like WAY early. Walked around a bit, looking for other people whom it looked might be there for the show.

My plan was, to find a complete stranger, who was unable to get a VIP ticket (they only sold 25 of them) and just bring them in to the event on my extra ticket. Was hoping to find someone who seemed cool, but wasn't (too terribly) creepy.

We only saw one girl walking around who looked like she was there for the same thing. She had a cool dress. That's how we knew she was there for the show :D

Well, I didn't approach her. I discouvered that as bold as I was in my mind when planning this out, I was still ME and thus 'stupidly shy' when it came down to 'the moment'. It was really early anyhow, so we decided to sit in the car and wait for a bit, since we got parking right near the venue (amazing how great parking is if you get there way early :P

As we were sitting in the car, I said that I should have asked that Girl With The Good Dress if she had a VIP ticket, but it was so early, and I felt like a creep. We made fun of me a bit for being a big wiener.

Then we saw the Girl With The Good Dress walking down the street towards us. I said I should ask her now, like out the car window, cause THAT would be even creepier! My room mate said that I should wait, because it would be too creepy and the police would come and punch my head. I agreed with this logic. After about 10 or 15 more minutes, we went back up near the venue and waited more. A few people sort of gathered around here and there, but no one who looked really approachable, or that I had a specific feeling about one way or another. I tend to go with instinct and gut feelings on this sort of thing.

After a bit, we saw Girl With The Good Dress coming back, and I decided that maybe I would see if she had a VIP ticket. I stood there trying to convince myself that I was bold enough to do it, and that I wouldn't seem like some weird molester.

As I stood there working on the 'talk to a random stranger' equation, Girl With The Good Dress walked right up to us and announced that she would hang out with us, because she saw us before, and standing with others made it easier to avoid being harassed by bums downtown (very true).

She was very friendly and nice. Her name was Haemy. We talked for a few minutes, and I asked if she had a VIP ticket, and she did.
So, that plan was out, but we had a new friend for the show, which was awesome.

I got to looking around fairly intently now because there was about 20 minutes before we needed to be assembled for the VIP event.

Most of the people were hanging around in groups.
I didn't put them really high on the list, because if two or three people were together and had regular tickets, I didn't want any drama at inviting one (and only one) of them to the VIP. I was also discounting anyone who didn't clearly look over 18, because I didn't wan't to end up somehow being 'responsible' for anything stupid.

At this point I noticed a guy standing all alone, but all the way across the street, sort of lurking in the shadows. He had glasses, was wearing a suit and tie, skeleton gloves and clutching a violin case as though it would stop him from drowning. I figured he was there for the show, but something seemed.... weird. It triggered a memory about a guy who had posted in the forums about the Austin show. He had asked if it would be possible to get his violin signed if he brought it, and asked about the venue.

I had replied to the post, giving some info about parking in the area, and saying that in all likelyhood, that the only signing would be at the VIP event. I remembered the whole thing, because he had replied to my reply saying that he would be taking the bus, so parking didn't matter.

Even his forum posts had seemed a little weird somehow.

After another 10 minutes or so, I still didn't see anyone I felt like asking, and Violin Guy had made it across the street by now. He was sort of hiding on the other side of a street light from everyone else. I figured "Hell, this is the only guy here even more awkward than me, so why not?" I went over and said hello. He looked sort of terrified. I asked him if he rode the bus to the venue. He looked alarmed and suspicious. I then realized why he seemed so odd, both on the forums, and in person. He clearly didn't speak a whole lot of English. So I did the American Trick of Talking Loud And Slow (ala Gordon Cole <3). I said that I had seen his post on the forums, and that I was the one who had replied to him.

He relaxed a lot and said he remembered.
I asked him where he had come in from.

Get this, guys...
He rode the bus in all the way from MEXICO.
He came all alone. A 5 hour bus ride into a foreign country, and took a cab from the bus station to the venue.
He did not even have a ticket. Not even a regular one!

He was just hoping that he would be able to buy one at the gate.
Can you imagine the stones that took?
Five hours on the bus, all alone, in another country, barely speaking the language, on a CHANCE to get in and see the show?

His name was Manuel.

I knew than, that fate was at hand, and that everything DOES happen for a reason, and that Today was the Luckiest Day of Manuel's young life.

I said "OK, you're coming with me. We're going into the VIP, and you get to meet Emilie."
He was excited, but he wasn't sure if he should believe me or not.
Who can blame him?
I would be suspicious too.

But damn, if I wasn't excited to have found him. He was completely perfect for it.

So, moving the story along. We went in, our whole new group of friends, me, Masani (my room mate), Haemy & Manuel. He finally believed it when we got inside haha :D

Emilie came out, I went up to talk to her first out of our group & I made sure Manuel was next in line behind me.
She remembered me from the Dallas show, which of course sent my heart aflutter. Said she still loves my hair, and poked around in it some, which I sure didn't mind. I leaned in close and told her the story of Manuel, and how he came to be here & let her know that he was very excited & didn't speak great English. She was really glad that I found him and got him in. All glowy smiles and happy. :D :D

When Manuel went up, she gave him a little extra time and signed his violin for him. He was all nervous and shaking. It was adorable.

The line went through a second time for pictures. Emilie got to play with my hair more, and said we could hold our picture pose all night. I said I sure wouldn't mind & she said she wouldn't either. Rawr!

Manuel didn't have a camera, so we made sure to get pictures for him so he could get them via email.

After the rest of the VIP event, which went on for nearly an hour, they processed our tickets. There was some confusion over Manuel's ID card. I guess the door guys had never seen one and couldn't verify it to their satisfaction, so they stamped him under 21 (he is 23, FYI) just to be safe. Which is no problem, because he wasn't planning to drink anyhow. However, the venue has no re-entry for minors, so he couldn't leave and come back at all.

So, Masani stayed in with Manuel, and Haemy & I went to our respective cars together to drop off our swag and merch. Then we ran over to Casino el Camino and got food. Haemy ordered a giant cheeseburger for Manuel, and we took it back to him. Man, he truly had an amazingly lucky run of it! We were concerned that he might get the idea that Americans are nice to people from other countries haha.

I had gotten food for Masani because I wasn't sure if she was hungry, and I believe in 'better safe than hungry'. She wasn't hungry. We had an extra giant cheeseburger, but a couple of Haemy's friends showed up and split it, so people gor fed all over! We ate our food like starving wolves, and the show started just after the last bite.

As expected, not nearly enough people showed up for my liking, but I think everyone had a great time. The stage was too small for all the sets and props, but they had a modified version going on & it was still awesome.

Made for a small & intimate show. We waited around for a bit after, because I was reeeeeally hopping that Maggots would come out, but the venue was being cranky about loitering & we took off. Manuel left first because he wanted to get a cab and head to the bus place. What a trooper. I totally admire his sense of adventure.

We walked Haemy to her car (Bum Defense Force!) and then headed home. It was an awesome night, and one that I don't think any of us will ever forget.
___

After that, my week was mostly art art art.

I got a lot of things done, and of course the more I do the more ideas I get and it's all a big whirling swirl, and somewhere in there, there was dinner at my moms house with friends & family. Many late nights. Small defeats far outweighed by small triumphs & joys.

You make your own life & reality.

If you decide to make it Revisionist Misery and blame everyone else for your own issues, then it's what you deserve.

I choose more than that. I choose to make my world beautiful and grand, even if no one but me ever gets to experience it.

I'm back :)

That one is the one that was posted by the official ZL Twitter.

This one was actually taken at the venue, right by the red carpet, but you can't really tell that from the angle :P

You probably cant tell in these photos, but the make-up was all glittery, which I thought was greatly amusing.
I bet I was the only zombie there wearing MAC :P

Anyhow, there ya go

"Week of Silence 09" is officially over.
For those of you who are new to the program, this was our second annual event.

If you'd like to take a look, please see these links:

Year 1:
http://poisonedgrace.livejournal.com/tag/week+of+silence

This year:
http://poisonedgrace.livejournal.com/tag/week+of+silence+2.0

They read from the bottom up if you care about order, although that's not terribly important.

Last year, I was randomly looking over some old pictures my mom had scanned, and for some reason I was "in a mood" and decided that I didn't have much to say.  So I just posted an old picture, coupled with a quote from some piece of literature that I have enjoyed and held dear (for one reason or another) in my life.

I felt that it was more defining and really said more about who I have become than a blog about 'how I spent my day', so I continued it for a week.  I also felt like it was self explanitory, so I didn't reply to any comments until the end of that week when it was all done, you know... just to let it stand on its own.

I called it a 'week of silence' and didn't really think about it again.

Well for some reason, last week I started thinking about it again, so I looked up the old blog posts, and noticed that they were made last May.  I figured that was totally a sign, that it was a year ago this same month and I randomly thought about it again, so CLEARLY, it was ment to become a yearly event.

So there you have the complete story of 'the week of silence' and we'll have another one next year. <3

Sometimes that week is hard, because I'll have something I really want to blog about which will end up being just untimely or too late by the end of the week.

I guess that's what I get for being an unstoppable WIND BAG, eh?!!

Anyhow, since anything over 5 sentences is scaring the hell out of TL;DR I guess I'll let you off the hook for today.

I know that most of you won't care (or even have any idea what I'm talking about) but Screeching Weasel has finally overcome their legal difficulties and are going to be touring again.

Fucking.  Screeching.  Weasel.

This is a band I have listened to for YEARS and never ever thought I would get to see live.

The super awesome thing is....  They are playing their first (of only three shows in 2009) in Austin!

Guess who already has a ticket?  :P

Here, I'll just paste you the info straight from Ben Weasel's blog:
________

That's Screeching Weasel on the 19th and the Riverdales on the 20th. I'm pretty sure the Riverdales show is slated for the smaller room so plan accordingly.

I really want to give you the lowdown on the SW re-formation but there's honestly not a lot to say. Legal issues prevented me from doing my own band on my own terms over the past couple of years but thankfully those problems are all resolved now. The kind of stuff happens sometimes. I won't deny that those problems - which were really just the culmination of many years of a lot of other b.s. - left a foul taste in my mouth about SW. But now that all the headaches are behind me I'm feeling great about it. I'm finally running my own band again and I'm really happy and excited to be back at it. I've got a killer line-up comprised of myself, Danny Vapid, Simon Lamb (the Ritalins), Justin Perkins (Yesterday's Kids) and Adam Cargin (Blueheels) (he's also the new Riverdales drummer) and we've got a great set list. And I'm thrilled to be playing in Texas - places like Houston and Austin were always great for Screeching Weasel in our touring days. We are only playing two other shows in 2009 (in the fall - they'll be announced next month) so we'll hope to see you at one of them!

Screeching Weasel and Riverdales tickets both go on sale at 10 a.m. central tomorrow. MySpace has been awfully picky about my links lately so instead of embedding them I'm just going to type them out for you so you can copy and paste them if MySpace puts the kibosh on 'em.

This link is for the Screeching Weasel show on June 19th: http://www.ticketweb.com/t3/sale/SaleEventDetail?dispatch=loadSelectionData&eventId=1257734

This one is for the Riverdales show on June 20th: http://www.ticketweb.com/t3/sale/SaleEventDetail?dispatch=loadSelectionData&eventId=1257744

The bands are playing on different nights so if you want to see 'em both you'll have to buy tickets for both nights. Additional shows will not be added even if these sell out so if you wanna go, get a move on!

Anyone else going to make it?

I finally made it through all the halloween cameras!  A surprise 4th camera full of pics was added to the running at the last minute, but I have triumphed!  Next, I'll take a look at those videos and see what I can do as far as putting something together in a sensical manner :D

As promised, for those of you who have not seen yet, I'll post some of my favourite pics in teh blogz for all to suffer through.

Cthulhu Costume:
Behold, for the stars are right!
Cthulhu Costume
It's a little over 9 feet tall. :D

Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn )

In addition to the lights, the costume also had 3 speakers around the waist area.  They were playing Whale Sounds (humpback, if there's any difference?) at 3 seperate octaves, so it made a pretty scary noise on top of everything else.

There are some adjustments I want to make to it before next time, and I want to make some other bits and pieces for another more comedic version of the costume, so I can get double use out of it.

Also, I think before next halloween, I'm going to make a massive throne to go with it.  Then I can have a place to rest my weary giant 9 foot ass.

Oi!  Been missing for two days!     :D
I am back now.  I'm sure there's equal parts celebration and grieving.  Quake in your emotions, filthy human meat-sacks!

Where to start?  We'll go in order of the way it happened, assuming that things actually happen in order.
___

Tuesday night, went to San Antonio to see Gorgeous Frankenstein ( http://www.myspace.com/officialgorgeousfrankenstein  ) which has Doyle and Dr. Chud from the Misfits in it.  So, it's pretty much like the Misfits 2.0 line up with a different singer and without Jerry.

They were completely amazing.  Doyle is still freakin HUGE.  He's got to be at least 6 foot 5 and he's still all swole like a wrestler.  It's nuts to see him in real life.  He always looked huge in pictures, but they don't do him justice.  He hasn't lost a lick on playing all those songs either.  I saw blood and gore in the pit from people smashing each other apart.  I caught a 1/2 full beer in the groin area and got to stink like a bum all night.  The midget fell down and got trampled a little.  People attempted to tear the venue down.  It was an awesome riot.

There were like 10 bands or more playing that night, but I'll only mention the ones I care about.

Bella Morte ( http://www.myspace.com/bellamorte ) was there, so I got to see them yet again.  Starting to lose count now, but they always put on a good show, and are just some of the nicest guys out there.

Got to see Saturday Nite Shockers ( http://www.myspace.com/saturdayniteshockers ) again too.  They're a band from San Antonio that you should check out.  Seen them several times now, and they always put on a great show.  They love what they do and they're good at it.

Didn't make it home until nearly 4am  :D
Consequently, I didn't go to work Wednesday.
___

Spent Wednesday finishing up the logo situation for the TXDR badge / pins.  Yes, I made the last ones, so they should have been good to go, but the finely tuned image was lost in computer death, and had to be re-fine tuned.  They should be completely exact however.  :D  AND this time I have back ups in 2 places so it'll be super fast and easy next time.

What can we do about getting those to you guys?  any time this week I can meet up with someone? Or I can just bring them to the venue on the 5th.  Whatever works.
___

Thursday, right before it was time to get up, I had this dream...  Some of it was mundane, although it did have some message from the Divine as well.

I'll just hit a few parts here and there.
I remember being far far away.  In another country but I don't know which one.  Everything was strange and different and old.  I was walking down a street lined with interesting buildings and markets and stuff.  Ahead of me, I saw two girls who looked upset.  They were trying to use a pay phone, but some guy was hastling them pretty bad.  As I got closer and closer, I could see it escalating.  The girls, obviously english speaking Americans, were distraught, probably lost, and the guy was much larger than them, all touchy-feely and propositiony.  He was a big swarthy greasy villain.  He was not going to take no for an answer, and they desperately needed to use the phone so that they could get un-lost.

Those of you who know me well in the real world probably all know that I have this hyperactive justice gland that tends to cause me to stand up for people and oppose situations like this (you probably also know that I can get myself in trouble with it sometimes :P  ).  So I walked directly to them, stepped between them with my back to the man, as though I didn't even see him.  I put an arm around each girl and exclaimed loudly "There you are!  I've been looking all over for you guys, let's head back home!"  I started walking and lead them away from the guy who (just as people like him most often do) lost all his steam and bravado and sort of stood there a bit before going his own way.

After about half a block, we all breathed a sigh of relief and had a giggle over it.  We all introduced ourselves.  I can't remember names, but they were from some state north east of me, I can't remember which one.  We pooled our knowledge and got them found.  I could tell one of them was really taking a shine to me.  I figured it was just that old 'my saviour' thing that happens to people (human nature?) when someone stands up for them.  Gratitude and affection sometimes seem closely linked.

We found their people and they invited me to go with them to some place.  I didn't have anything to do, and The Roads were leading me here...

They had several friends who were relatively unmemorable.  We walked to a castle sort of thing.  I can't really use the architecture of the place ti tell where this all took place, cause the castle looked exactly like Disneyland :P

The group of us went up there, by this time the girl was hanging on to my arm.
I didn't realize during the dream, because Her Way is subtle, but upon waking and examining the whole thing, I understand now that I was being led.  She's very sneaky.  This form was unlike any way She has ever approached me before and it makes me wonder how many more times She has come to me with out me ever knowing.

They would not let us in the castle.  This part was very important.

The group had a van, and we got in it and drove far around the castle to the right, and evaded a lot of barricades. I was reluctant to go in for some reason, I guess the whole thing was just weird.  The group went away and I was briefly alone then someone else came.  I didn't understand at the time, but it was Her again, in a new form that She knew I would follow.  Of course, I did.

We put on disguises and I followed her deep through the castle, through passages and doors, staff only areas and utilities access.  We were far in, and had been persued from time to time. we even changed disguises several times.  Eventually, She got Herself captured so that I had to go into the last part alone, but no longer persued, as Her captors thought She was alone.

I was in a dark room.  I do not know who is represented here, but it's someone...
This is the most important part of the dream.
He was hanging, bound, head down from a ceiling far too vast, disappearing into the gloom.
I know His feet were far above us, and he was bound tight, wrapped in cord, similar to how a mummy would be wrapped, arms, legs and body all together so that He could not move.  He was at a 45 degree angle so that His chest was somewhat towards the floor.  His neck was bent so that if He were standing, He would be looking as far 'up' as possible.  In this position, it made Him so that his face was not straight down at the floor, but slightly upturned.

His chin was probably 6 feet off the floor, and His face was yards long.  I can not easily describe how immense He was.  His eyes were  easily 3 or more feet each.  His mouth was twice that.  He was shades of black and silver, almost as though he absorbed all the light that could have ever existed in the room. His eyes remained closed, and He remained motionless and expressionless like a statue.  There was absolutely no doubt that He was alive.  I use the word 'alive' because I have no other word to express it.  I do not know that He WAS alive in and conventional sense, or even aware in any way that out brains-made-of-meat can understand.  What He was, was all-encompassing.  He was bigger, and 'more' than almost any being I have ever encountered.  I have only ever encountered one other Thing that was 'more' than this entity.  This was very most assuredly, the 'major leagues'.

He never moved or let out a sound.  I stared into His enormous face forever.  A liquid started to flow from his face.  I do not think it came only from his eyes, but the majority of it may have.  It was thicker than water, even thicker than milk.  It was probably about the consistency of motor oil.  It was perfectly sparklingly clear.  So clear it was almost luminous.

There was a bowl at my feet, which I picket up.  It matched Him in texture and colour, black with a small silver inlay at the top.  I filled the bowl, as I knew I was meant to.  It filled to the top so that some practically formed a bubble but never spilled over.  I held it and peered to the depths.  As I gazed into the bowl, I saw that at the bottom, small particles were settling.  This was interesting because it was so very clear.  I watched as a fine layer of brilliant gold settled across the bottom of the bowl, like a layer of fine dust.  It shone and sparkled in the dimness, and I have no words to express how beautiful it was.

I held the bowl to my lips, and I drank.

I woke up, knowing that I had been Spoken to.
I still do not know by Whom.
And I do not yet understand the message.
But, as always, I listen.

Someone quit at work, someone else got hired.  My schedule is not going to change as far as when I arrive and when I leave, but my lunch time will be changing.  It's not like I have lunch with many of you ho read this, but hey, just in case.  You have been informed :P

What I've been doing:

Went to San Antonio Friday.  Saw Wednesday 13 (again) ( http://www. myspace.com/officialwednesday13

Saturday, was out of the house all day doing chores and errands and stuff of that nature.

Sunday, went to see :
I am Ghost (again) ( http://www. myspace.com/iamghost
and
Eyes Set to Kill ( http://www. myspace.com/eyessettokill )

So, yeah, busy weekend.  I was barely home at all.  I was AFK all weekend :P
I'm sure it's good for me to get the hell out of the house sometimes, even if it does set off forest fires in the peanut gallery.  Fucking surreal, y'all.

This week will probably go back to the insane and busy business of working on The Thing.
I was totally slacking this weekend with all the other stuff I had going on.  Now, I'm all work out from that crap and I feel like I just wanna take a nap and watch cartoons all day, but that won't happen.   The part that I'm working on right now is a little slow as I trial and error it into shape, so I already feel like I'm falling behind.  Can't afford a slacking day for no good reason.

It's still early monday, and I've already made it in to work, written a poem and  gotten a lot of stuff done.
Go me!

The Yuck:
I feel gross and bloated and gross.  Friday I was at The Mansion, working on my Project until late.  Saturday, I was there until it was time to pick up my assistant, then go to Haylan and Eric's goodbye party as Super Funk Skate-O-Rama (or whatever it's called).  THEN, I was there alllll day Sunday for Eric's B-Day party.  These things sound delightful, and the awesome aspects of them will be addressed momentarily, HOWEVER...
The problem is that when crap like this is going on, I end up drinking a lot (SODA, you knuckleheads).
I normally try with a serious might to avoid drinking pop all together.  Many times they simply don't HAVE anything else at the mansion, and their water is usually horrid and really 'dry' and chalky somehow and it just makes me thirsty and kinda sick.  So yeah, I had like a really terrible soda binge all weekend, and now I feel like fat bloated crap over it.

The Awesome:
Friday:
I was up at the Mansion working on my Project.  Got some things done, and got some ideas, and I'll be back at it today.  Late friday night, I ended up on some roller blades in the driveway, to try to teach my cousin how it's done.  It's been YEARS since I skated last (I actually used to be pretty damned good, but oh boy, not anymore!)  I forgot some of those tiny muscles in my feet even existed!
After that, somehow it developed into a sword fighting tournament.  Even though I've gotten really out of shape, it was completely awesome anyhow.  I think we're going to try to do that more often because bruises and sore aside, we have a great time.

Saturday:
Again at the Mansion ended up heading out to the Going Away Party (my sister, and her husband Eric are moving to Hawai'i in another week or so) late because I had to pick my assistant up from work, and it was less driving and running around to do it that way.  I did skate a little more there, and used more of those long lost muscles doing it :D  Stayed there until they closed, then a group of us ended up going over to The House of Torment ( http://www.myspace.com/houseoftorment  ) for a full behind the scenes tour with one of the owners (who is someone I've only vaguely known for years, but is an awesome and cool guy whom I should know better).  I'll tell you right now: if you live in Austin, or anywhere else in TX, you MUST go to this when they open up for the season.  If you do NOT live in Austin or Texas, you must come to visit and go to this. It's the most awesome kind of completely amazing that can only occur when insane and talented people really put their whole hearts and souls into their dreams and follow what they love to do.  I can not possibly praise it enough or speak highly enough about the wonderful job they are doing.  I was thrilled to have the chance to check it out.
Also: got to try on a pair of those extreme jumping stilts.  Interesting contraptions. learned to function them with a decent degree of competency in 10 minutes or so.  Wouldn't trade them for mine for costume purposes, and wouldn't spend the insane amount they cost on them, but interesting to fool around with.  Nothing quite like the damnfool notion of me bouncing around, 2 feet off the ground on metal stilts over a concrete warehouse floor like a psychotic kangaroo (but aren't they all?).

Sunday:
Eric's B-Day party.  The Most Intense Game of UNO EVAR!  lol
Had too much: soda, cake, ice-cream.
Had not enough: the company of awesome people.
I had a really great time hanging out with some swell folks and stuff.  Got to demonstrate my hand made stilts as well, which uses a different obscure and ridiculous set of muscles from the skating AND the sword fighting (and even different from the jumping stilts).
In spite of all the horrible things I ate (and mostly drank, ugh) I have a nice 'used' feeling in some fun muscles (am I the only person who actually really loves that feeling?).  I'm going to have to be super hard-core in my 'no soda' policy for quite a while now, because I'm going to be working on this art project so much that there's gonna be a lot of sitting on my ass as-is, and I think I'm actually carrying some of the much-hated soda-weight right now. gross gross gross.

Maybe we actually will have more sword fighting (there's been talk about some sparing too, so that would be 'wicked-awesome' as Eric would say :P  That could help with the situation some.

I'm in a pretty good mood, and feel like I've possibly gained an alternator or something, even though my head is still firmly doing undecided loops about several other things, as it is prone to do.
